Your First Website – Domain

“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” -Shakespeare

What’s in a name – a lot. That’s why some domains cost thousands and thousands of dollars per year.

Most cost $10-$15, you can go to https://hosting-toaster.net/billing and buy your own, or you can go to someplace like namecheap.com. The process is mostly the same and fairly simple.

Step 1 – Go to the site.

Step 2 – Type in a domain that might interest you.

Step 3 – If it is taken go back to step 2, otherwise, add to cart. This may require a security code.

Step 4 – Fill out the check out, enter payment info and buy it. – If you are using a design/hosting company make sure that you note your username and password. You may need to share that information if you are not comfortable with the process of connecting your domain to your hosting.

Simple so far.

If you have the hosting information you can enter it and connect it to your site right away. If the site is not finished yet, you don’t have to do anything other than keep your contact information current.
